my (extravagent) wish list

somehow i could not make this wish list with all of the items under $100. pathetic/hypocritical right? while all the items i have included on the previous lists are things that i would buy, these are the things that i really want and would indulge in.

1. leather shift dress ($90) i am in love with this dress. enough said.

2. rebecca minkoff quilted purse ($295) i have decided that i want my next purse to be red. and i think this is it.

3. tumblers ($8/each) these cups have been on my list for years. i want every color really.

4. plane tickets- to anywhere. next year we really want to go to japan, san francisco, seattle and portland. oh, and chicago and paris and london. really, we want to go anywhere.

5. sequin pants ($68) or anything with sequins.

6. Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 ($499) i want to replace my kit lens with a new walk around one. i have read really good reviews of this one. and it's much cheaper than the canon ones.

7. leopard fur coat ($145) ever since i saw this over on a little dash of darling i have been dying for it.

8. toulouse-lautrec canvas ($150) you can never have enough art, right?

9. duvet cover ($119) i think it's time for new bedding. i'm imaging this duvet cover with some bright sheets, and mismatched throw pillows.

six (cheap) gifts for audrey lovers

For all of you fellow Audrey lovers out there, this gift guide is for you!

[ps. i wanted so badly to include the sunglasses from breakfast at tiffany's, but the price point is waaayyyy over $100. but they will always be on my wishlist, i'm sure they are on yours too!]

1. Patent Leather Envelope ($95) - i had to include something from Tiffany's in this post. because the only jewelry you can get for under $100 is a silver chain, and all of the cheapest jewelry is not that great (why do i hate the 'return to tiffany's' line?) i chose this little clutch/lipstickholder/coinpurse. pulling that little pop of tiffany blue put of your purse will always make you happy.

2. Audrey Hepburn, An Elegant Spirit ($17.11) this is my favorite audrey book that is have. it is written by her son who tells lovely memories of his dear mother.

3. Sleep Mask ($25) my sister, audrey, has really embraced the sleep mask this year. she's a pretty glamorous 13-year old. this mask will help you to sleep beautifully.

4. Little Black Dress ($99.95) i had to make a serious decision in choosing the lbd for this post. i decided the style of this dress was so audrey- the cut sleeves, and not-so-revealing neckline screamed her name. (also, have you guys look at the anthro sale section lately, they have some awesome dresses right now!)

5. Faux-Fur Pillbox Hat ($98) how charade is this pillbox hat? dying.

6. Unicef Donation lastly, for those of you who truly know audrey, you'll know that she was an avid advocate for unicef. gifting a donation to the charity is really the ultimate gift.

six (cheap) gifts for the decorista

this is a collection of gifts for the most stylish ladies in your life!

1. Eames Style Rocker ($85) obviously this is not an original, but is made of plastic. it sure beats the $500 price point of other chairs of its kind!

2. Paper Mache Reindeer ($59) help your favorite decorators really get in the christmas spirit by replacing their deer heads (which they most likely have) with this awesome reindeer.

3. Fur Chair Cover ($29.99) this can have multiple purposes: rug, chair cover, cuddle buddy. no matter what it's sure to bring coziness and warmth.

4. Velvet Tassel Pillow ($58) i am dying over this pillow, i love the neutral color mixed with the bright tassels.

5. Hexagon Towel Ring ($14) hexagons are my new favorite shape. i think everyone needs this hardware to make their bathroom so much more enjoyable.

6. Leif Print ($64) add to your decorista's art wall with this summery and bright print to get them out of the winter blues.

how to create the perfect stocking / for her

i don't know about you, but stockings have always been my favorite part of christmas. i'm not sure what it is about them that makes me so happy, but they do. the best things come in small packages right? and stockings are full of small packages. i know everyone does stockings/christmas morning differently. for us, we all had to wait to go down together. we would go down and see the bigger present that santa left out for us, and then could open the stockings all at the same time. most of the gifts in the stocking would be wrapped, which made opening them that much more fun. then we would show everyone what we got, and proceed youngest to oldest to open the rest of the presents.

our stockings were where the money was at. we always got the best stuff in them. i love them so much that i have even made the deal with jarman that on top of christmas presents we would get each other filled stockings, in addition to the ones from our families. we really like to spoil ourselves. jarman pulled out the big guns last year and had my entire stocking filled with stuff from anthro, it's gonna be a tough act to beat. here is the way that i think stockings should be filled.

1. Winter Accessories- Scarf ($39.95) i love the instant gratification of the getting something in the stocking and being able to wear it through the rest of the present opening. it could be a scarf (like this adorable pink fur), a hat, gloves, etc. it'll keep you warm on christmas morning and throughout the winter.

2. Candy- See's Candies (around $17.50) stockings should always be filled with candies. we almost always got see's candies, and would hide them from each other and eat them slowly over the next few weeks. hoarders to say the least. any kind of candy will do though. actually, any kind of chocolate.

3. Jewelry- Earrings ($38) this is another must. small packages usually means jewelry. jewelry always means happiness.

4. Make-up- Mac Holiday Lipstick Set ($39.50) for some reason i feel like make-up is an obvious thing to put in stockings because we almost always get the new mac sets. it should be a fun item- like glitter or gold eyeliner though, just to make it super holiday appropriate.

5. Socks or Undies- JCrew Socks ($16.50) for some reason almost every year we get underwear in our stockings. then when my dad was videoing us asking us what we got, we would get really awkward and embarrassed and he would always say something about it to make us blush even more. it's kind of a tradition. socks are fun too though.

6. Books- Italian Phrasebook (7.84) last christmas my mother-in-law got me and my sister-in-law the cutest little french guidebooks and phrasebooks. i think they should be in every stocking. this is a go-to for jarman too.

7. Fun Fillers- Jeweled Keychain Purse ($18) there are so many other fun mini-thing that stockings can be filled with. i love these little keychains.

8. Movies- The Great Gatsby ($19.95) movies are must, and then you should probably have a movie marathon of every movie you got that day. that's pretty much what happens in the carpenter house.
